Fanfiction

The Eagle | Rosemary Sutcliff | Les Misérables | Star Wars
Tortall | James Bond | Other Fandoms

One of my main perennial fandoms. The Tortall novels consist of several series of young adult fantasy novels set in a medievaloid universe, the most well-known of which is probably the Song of the Lioness Quartet, starring Alanna of Trebond, who disguises herself as boy to become a knight. I love these books in part being I find it immensely fun to poke at the worldbuilding, plus they have a large cast of interesting and flexible characters.

Tortall Novels

Canon Compliant

Keep Us Until the Dawn
Original Characters, Mithros, T for violence and character death, 2290 words
Set in ancient history
It is said in the high stony reaches of Ekallatum where none live but goatherds and miners that the Great God Mithros was born in a cave. A slightly AU story of how Mithros might have come to be, and of the fall of Ekallatum, set in the Carthaki equivalent of the Bronze Age.

Buri is losing her princess, and she really doesn't like Jonathan of Conté.

The final battle of Lioness Rampant and its aftermath through the eyes of Cythera of Elden.

Five Midwinter Gifts

Canon Divergence

Fidelity
Buri/Thayet, rated G, 200 words
In this world, Thayet started an orphanage with Buri. She did not marry Jon.

Between the Wolves
Buri/Thayet, Thayet/Jon, rated T for consent issues, 4080 words
Pax Sarenica I
In a world where Thayet obtained the Dominion Jewel and swept through the Eastern Lands, bringing peace at the point of a sword, Jonathan of Conté, king of one of the last independent nations on the continent, had to choose between pride and the survival of his country. He chose survival, but that doesn't mean anyone is thrilled with the situation.

Warning: This story contains consent issues inherent to a political marriage neither party is personally thrilled about, and may be triggering. It also contains what I suppose might be thought of as infidelity, although this is not really a primary concern to anyone involved.

Royal Favor
Alexander of Tirragen, Jonathan of Conte, rated G, 590 words
Pax Sarenica II
A year or so after the events of "Between the Wolves," Jon asks Alex for a favor. Alex never does anything for free, not even for the man who didn't have him executed on Traitor's Hill.
